Bombing the Bastards in the Stone Age The terrorist groups Hamas and al-Qaeda have their bases in Islam. Both of these organizations have interpreted the teachings of Islam in violent ways. Al-Qaeda calls for the establishment of a "pan-Islamic Caliphate" to overthrow and expel Westerners." Hamas views any peace efforts as a handing of control to "non-believers" and refuses to take part in any peace efforts Bill Clinton's previous inaction on embassy bombings and terrorist threats has never prevented further violent actions by any of these groups. Both al-Qaeda and Hamas members are willing to die for it their cause. Suicide attacks are common and do not back down or appear weak. America's course of action has always been to attempt diplomacy and peace talks. Any loss of life proves unacceptable to this country. Withdrawing from a country where fellow Americans are put at risk seems completely logical to Americans, but this action appears weak and cowardly to these terrorist organizations. The worst possible course of action. what the United States could do would be to withdraw from the Middle East. Due to the militant philosophy of both of these religious groups, inaction will not bring peace. While the withdrawal would make sense from the American perspective, it would be seen as a weakness from the perspective of al-Qaeda and Hamas. These groups would consider this failure to react as a victory and would simply continue their attacks more aggressively. A strong demonstration is the only language these terrorists will understand.
