Globalization has brought people into more direct contact with the world through modern communications. Nowadays, people pay attention to news and events in foreign countries as much as in their own (Globalization, n.d.). Modern communications, such as social networks, help people learn more about their society. Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn are some of the favorite social networks that allow people to keep up with the society around them and probably reach many members of their family and friends. The combination of efficiency and creativity of these networks makes them a great source of attraction for individuals. Social networks are used as a way to connect people around the world and play an important role in contributing to the rise of globalization. According to the Oxford Dictionaries (n.d.), a social network is a website or customized program used to enable communication between people by “posting information, comments, messages, images, etc.” Social networks are types of telecommunications that, like telephones, connect people abroad, but are most widely used due to their fast and reliable operation. It is a double-edged sword that brings both harm and benefit. Regardless of how trustworthy and trustworthy it is, the damage it will most likely cause is more noticeable.
