Loung is a very open person about his feelings and is not afraid to say and do what he wants. Chou, however, is the type of person who is shy and feels repressed. It's amazing that two completely different people with two different personalities, goals or lifestyles can be best friends and family. Although the two are completely different, they are best friends and truly complement each other. This is evident from the beginning when they argue, to reconcile soon after and again towards the end of the novel when Loung is worried about seeing Chou again in five long years. Their relationship proves that the dynamic duo can overcome anything, including a deadly situation
