Nurses do not necessarily have more responsibilities, but different ones than those covered by professional nurses. NPs have more freedom to develop and oversee the implementation of health plans for patients. NPs are also able to follow guidelines more closely than a doctor. Registered nurses (RNs) are able to advise and assist less qualified medical personnel. I am also able to order, review and explain various diagnostic tests as directed by a doctor. All nurses have the responsibility to monitor and track patients' conditions, treatments and reactions.
