Slide 1:This is my presentation on Lead in Cell Phones.Slide 2:Smartphones have fundamentally changed the way we communicate. I know for sure after seeing my friends during the day that when I get home I can immediately text them or have chats or any of the ways we communicate. I can't imagine living in a world without being able to communicate with my friends across the room or across the world at the click of a button. Sitting in my room I can check the news, play games and talk to my friend in America, all at the same time. Technology has advanced a lot since the first iPhone. Along with other smartphones, they have changed the way we communicate because we can simply pick up the phone and talk to someone and you can send them a question via message or face them on facetime. Smartphones have changed the world because at your fingertips everywhere you can check the weather, watch a video, listen to music, take a photo, get directions, check the time, get information from the Internet and watch your favorite TV show. Slide 3Points to the number 82 on the periodic table. Lead is usually found in ores together with silver and copper and is mined together with them. Lead occurs naturally in the environment. However, most lead in the environment comes from human uses, such as lead from batteries, gasoline, or lead leaked into the environment from places like smelters. Slide 4These are the physical properties of lead. It is a metal that is usually bluish white in color. It can be shaped or bent. It has poor transmission of heat or electricity. It is quite soft and can be stretched without breaking. Slide 5The main chemical properties are that it dissolves slowly in water, does not react with oxygen in the air, does not burn, and reacts quickly with hot acids but reacts slowly with cold ones. It is resistant to corrosion but oxidises when exposed to air and is toxicSlide 6Lead is usually used in mobile phone screens, circuit boards and buttons. Lead is commonly used as a stabilizer in products and as a pigment in paints, rubber, plastics and ceramics. The chemical properties of lead also facilitate its use in metal products. Slide 7Lead affects brain development, causing learning problems including lower IQ scores and shorter attention spans.
