To identify one superman from another, people look at their specific powers. For sure, everyone in their life has dreamed or still dreams of having different superpowers and becoming a hero. Spider-Man is a superhero not only for his powers but for many other characteristics that all superheroes have in common. Spider-Man is known worldwide as a fictional superhero. There are many T-shirts with his photos, costumes and toys in stores. Everyone knows his incredible abilities. However, he got the title of superhero not only because he can climb walls and shoot webs from his wrists. The first time people encountered Spider-Man was in the comics in 1962 (Kistler, 2012), where he appeared as one of the members of the famous Avengers team. It took readers by storm. His personality and backstory impressed many fans, prompting Marvel to create his own series, “The Amazing Spider-Man” in 1963 (Kistler, 2012). The first Spider-Man film surprised the film community with the highest opening weekend gross in history in the United States, and the hero became world famous. Superhero is a complex term that includes several characteristics. The superhero can be a superman, in the sense that he has powers and abilities far beyond those of ordinary mortals (p. 11, Morris, 2005). Indeed, Spider-Man has incredible powers: clear vision, superhuman strength and super-fast reflexes. It can also cling to various surfaces and shoot webs. He also develops a precognitive sense that warns him of approaching danger (Raimi, 2002). This is why, certainly, Spider-Man can be defined as a superman but not yet a superhero. A superhero is also an extraordinarily powerful person, with weaknesses as well as strengths, whose noble character guides him towards a worthy... middle of paper... reveals his secret to her but it doesn't help, as they break apart and come together a hundred times. He learned how to combine his life as a person and as a superhero, to face all problems without losing his love and friends. He's not perfect but he tries his best to do good and help others. Spider-Man's powers don't make him a good hero. It is his courage and kindness that lead him to save people. He never broke his promises and always followed his uncle's advice "with great power comes great responsibility."
