Citizen Kane was a film released in 1941 and was voted number one in the history of American cinema. It was written, directed and starred Orson Welles. The story was set in Xanada, Florida and began with an introduction about that place. Citizen Kane has a strange opening as it opens with the camera panning to a spooky haunted mansion and then the camera lingers and zooms in closely on the sign that says "No Entry", then the camera took us into the room of house, we saw a person was lying on the bed and that was the main character of the story "Charles Foster Kane" (Orson Welles). We could see that he was dying and his last word was "Rosebud", and then he dropped the ball, and it shattered. Because of the word "Rosebud", people wanted to find out what it was, so the story will start with rising action. After Charles's death, the next scene was a "March News" newsreel, announcing Charles's death and providing a summary of Charles's colorful life and career and certainly introducing some of Charles's important people and events. ¡¦ life. Being a summary of Charles' life, it was just an introduction to him, so we could get an idea of what he was like. Later in the film we will deeply understand his relationship with his wife and his career. The newsreel was broadcast in a small screening room full of journalists. He noticed that Charles's last word, "rosebud," would make people suspicious. He decided to send a reporter, "Jerry Thompson", to research the meaning behind the word "rosebud". Jerry's first interview was with Charles' second wife, Susan Alexander Kane, who worked as a dancer and singer in a bar, thinking she would know something about rosebuds. Because of this, she was drunk, she didn't want to say anything about him, so the waiter told Jerry that she often talked about him when he was alive, but he said that he had never heard of Rosebud before. Afterwards, Jerry went to Hall and read a diary of Charles. As Jerry begins reading this memoir, the image of the page dissolves into a flashback to Kane's childhood. The flashback showed how Thatcher, Charles' guardian until the age of 25, meets Charles.
