With the advancement of technology, from drones that deliver deliveries to e-books that become increasingly cheaper, large companies like Apple and Amazon have had a great impact not only on the technological industry but also on the publishing industry. Companies are producing resources like IBooks and the Kindle library to take full advantage of the transition to digital publishing. As a result we have greener, cheaper books and obsolete traditional text copies. The introduction of these resources makes the lives of students and the mass market more convenient. Students can now purchase books on a device that won't burden their bags every day. Companies have created libraries that can be accessed from the devices we use every day, resulting in paperless copies of books that are substantially cheaper than traditional hard copy. E-books are rapidly replacing physical books and textbooks and, as a result, are becoming more widely and easily available to students. The benefits of e-books are clear. They provide the reader with a convenient way to purchase and read books. In addition to this I found a WSJ article by Steve Johnson stating that “e-books would likely profoundly change the way we read, write and sell books” (Johnson). This statement is completely accurate, because we are currently experiencing the transition to the digital form of publishing. In addition to being convenient, e-books have many other advantages over traditional books. E-books have made a great impact on students' lives. The fact that e-books are cheaper than traditional books is the main reason why students will benefit from them.
