This study will focus on the problem of obesity among people. Obesity is one of the most important problems facing society due to insufficient information people have about the amount of food consumed and how people should balance their diet. It seems that the problem of obesity is not only experienced in one country but in different countries and this does not only depend on a certain gender and age, but a person suffering from obesity could be an adult or a child, a woman or a man . Mercer University School of Medicine researchers studied the connection between obesity and health-related quality of life in individuals aged 18 and older using 2000 MEPS data. After considering socioeconomic aspects and the significance of the disease, they revealed that quality of life worsens with increasing levels of obesity. Those who were obese had significantly lower health-related quality of life than those who were of normal weight (Research on Obesity and Overweight, p.3). For the first time, the number of overweight people worldwide equals the number of underweight people. Likewise, developing countries have joined the ranks of nations plagued by obesity. A 1999 United Nations (UN) survey revealed that obesity is increasing in all developing regions, even in nations overwhelmed by hunger. In China, the percentage of overweight people increased from less than 10% to 15% in three years. In Brazil and Colombia the overweight percentage corresponds to around 40% of that in many European countries. Yet sub-Saharan Africa, where most of the world's hungry live, is facing rising obesity, particularly among urban women.
