There is a huge need for leaders – authentic leaders who facilitate the process of building relationships and resolving conflicts more effectively as affirmative role models in the capacities served. Leadership of all types has been subjected to unprecedented attacks. The inability to effectively resolve conflicts is a problem that impacts the relationships of past and current leaders of all kingdoms. Against using conflicts and/or crises as an opportunity to overcome problems – becoming solution-oriented beacons for others, leaders react inappropriately; hope that time heals all wounds (conflicts); ignore the issues at hand; or make unnecessary changes that further damage relationships and credibility. In an ever-changing global society, authentic leaders have great influence in empowering and providing individuals with the tools necessary to resolve conflicts; building social capital. Social capital is defined by creating connections between each other and maintaining them over time, people are able to work together to achieve things that they could not achieve alone or could achieve only with great difficulty (Falk & Kilpatrick, 2000). . The definition of social capital is intertwined with the meaning of empowerment. The state of our society is a reflection of the quality of our leadership. To build social capital, you need to establish meaningful relationships that foster accountability, expertise (resources and skills), and safety. A paradigm shift occurs when community violations are no longer seen as merely having a punitive outcome but rather as an ongoing restorative relationship to repair the harm. By adopting a restorative approach, authentic leadership flourishes from the center of the article… Bass.Falk, I. & Kilpatrick, S. (2000). What is share capital? A study of a rural community.
