Marketing. “It is the management process through which goods and services pass from concept to customer” (What is Marketing, 2010). By choosing this topic for my senior seminar paper, I hope to discover the material I need to create a deeper understanding of marketing to help me create a product that will help the community. This article will delve into the past, present and future of marketing and elaborate specific points that help companies apply the correct marketing strategies to everyday life. Some people say marketing has been around forever. Other people say it just emerged in the last couple of centuries. “Trading and payment in money, goods and services has existed for thousands of years. Some marketing tools like advertising have been around for hundreds, even thousands of years. The ancient Greeks used advertising for commercial purposes and merchants hired “heralds” to promote their products” (MMC learning, n.d.). ). Due to new advancements in technology and trends, marketing strategies are continually modified to meet the needs and desires of the audience. “Some of these new demands include new tastes, new values, the emergence of competitors, and changing laws and regulations” (MMC learning, n.d.). There are four elements to marketing. Also known as the “four Ps” of marketing; price, product, promotional strategy and place, these are the fundamental ideas behind marketing and advertising. Marketing is about thinking about what consumers need or want and then satisfying that need or desire. When it comes to the difference between marketing and sales there is a very thin line......between paper......sion, radio, print media including newspapers, flyers and magazines and social networks such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.ReferencesDefinition of marketing.
