In our society there has been a revolution that competes with the industrial one. It's called the technological revolution. At the pinnacle of the technological revolution is what we call the Internet. In the following report we will talk about what the Internet represents in general and what it could be like in the future, why it is necessary in our daily lives and why it has become so important for everyone (e.g. companies, private individuals). Internet is the set of media connected to each other by communication channels. The Internet is actually an Internet because it connects smaller networks of many countries. The Internet awakens the computer and the world of communication like nothing else before. The invention of the computer, telephone, telegraph, etc., lays the foundation for this unprecedented completion of faculties. The Internet immediately becomes a radio broadcast with global reach, a mechanism for the distribution of information, and a means for cooperation and interaction between individuals and their computers, being indifferent to geographical location. In 1958 the US Department of Defense created a department called the "Advanced Research Projects Agency" – ARPA. His goal was to create new technologies. In 1968 they created ARPAnet, a computer network. For 20 years the internet was a network of precise and enormous computers. In 1989, things changed and ARPA ceased to exist. The Internet was a fact. Internet access was previously reserved for universities and was used for communication between scientists. Nowadays it is possible for anyone to access the Internet from anywhere in the world. Why do people use the Internet? The Internet is a huge encyclopedia of information and it's even better in some ways. The volume of information you will find on the Internet is exceptional. For every topic that comes to mind you will surely be able to find it on the Internet, because there is always someone who has written about it. The Internet can offer you a number of different perspectives on a single topic. As a matter of fact, you can even connect to an online encyclopedia. Many of them offer you a subscription service that helps you search the full text of the encyclopedia. One of the great things about the Internet is that it shares information with you that you would probably have to pay to discover or learn from less convenient means.
