Topic > Order and Chaos in Gun Crazy and Bonnie and Clyde

Society has a very strict order that people must follow, but the moment a person does something that is not part of the social order, they create chaos. Despite common misconceptions, “order” does not necessarily equal “good,” nor does “chaos” equal evil. Order in the film is associated with rules, traditions and, if taken to extremes, fascism and mindless obedience. Chaos, on the other hand, is associated with change, individualism, and, when taken to extremes, savagery and self-indulgence. Chaos is shown in both films and also shows how society regains control and enforces order by establishing power. These two films are very different from other crime films and break the classic crime genre. They can be considered revisionist and put a twist on typical crime films. In the classic crime genre it's always about the same things that traditional criminals understand; only concerned with themselves, seen as anti-heroes, agents of oppression who take from anyone just to get rich, take advantage of the system (for their own purposes) and want to live the American dream. While revisionists have this unique way of making the audience fall in love and root for the criminals, this is because; they criticize what is right and wrong in society, they show people's oppression, they are a person of the people, a social rebel, and above all they know who they are and where they come from. In the movie Gun Crazy both elements of order and chaos are seen. Not only a crime film but also a romantic film, the two protagonists are initially considered to be crossed lovers, since they are criminals and not only have chaos in their lives but carry it with them everywhere... middle paper...... the company has taken a wrong path. Where, as in Bonnie and Clyde, there is more of an equal relationship and no mutual manipulation. Both Bonnie and Clyde are criminals, they are chaos and go against society, which leads society to fight back and win in the end. Becoming more reckless, which gives their journey two separate ends, can end in their capture or death. Since they both go against the social norm, while in society everything is about everything being in its place. Clyde is seen as an asexual, because he shows no sexual attraction to Bonnie. While Bonnie is considered more of a transgressive character, who must be punished for going against social norms. The reason why the public is rooting for criminals to get away from the police is because both Bonnie and Clyde do it for the people and only target certain people..
