Everyone has their own personal philosophy of nursing, whether they know it personally or not. We all have our own beliefs about what nursing is, our personal goals and values that are important to our nursing practice. Some individuals are more aware of the beliefs and values that influence their role and actions in nursing than others who have never thought about it before. When trying to develop your nursing philosophy, it may be helpful to reflect on your personal definition of what nursing is, the characteristics by which you believe a nurse should act, the role and purpose of a nurse, the nursing as an art and science, and the goals and values that are important to nursing practice. If I had to define, most definitions include some of the same repeated concepts and ideas. However, my personal belief about what the subject of nursing science is includes many theories, problem solutions, interventions, assessments, and nursing care plan concepts. As learned in class, nursing science also includes knowledge (Okoro 2015). Where “Nursing is an art, an expression of compassion that utilizes the body of scientific knowledge” (Bramlett, 2010, p.6). Nursing is both an art and a science, which are related to each other, making knowledge a key component of nursing science. Nurses use knowledge, and other concepts such as theories, interventions, and assessments, to help formulate a nursing diagnosis and treatment plan for the patient. The concepts of nursing care plan, assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluations, help nurses to use scientific thinking and evidence-based practice, in order to develop an appropriate care plan for patients without working outside outside the nursing facility Every patient is different and is unique in their own way and responds differently to different diseases. The environment can affect a person's health, and as a nurse, appropriate implications should be made based on the patient's condition and environment. Nursing can be viewed as an art and a science. Nursing science involves many scientific and evidence-based theories, problem solutions, implications, evaluations, and knowledge. All nurses should dress and behave in such a way that the family and patient feel comfortable in their presence. Additionally, a nurse's overall goal is to provide quality care, in order to prevent illness and injury and promote the health and well-being of each patient. Finally, education and involvement are one of the main keys to improving a patient's health and should be implemented by the majority of citizens.
