In the article How Technology is Changing the Way Children Think and Concentrate, author Jim Taylor, highlights "...students who are were allowed access to the Internet during lessons did not remember the lesson or perform as well on the material test as those who were not “wired” during the lesson” (para. 10). to the point where they drown out everything around them and devote what little attention they have to their devices, leaving individuals completely unaware of their surroundings. From a teacher's perspective, it's hard enough trying to maintain 32 concentration wondering minds, some with ADD and learning disabilities, the last thing anyone needs is a handful of students not paying attention because they are playing games on their devices.
