Bringing a new baby into the world is a life-changing experience. The lives of both the mother and father change tremendously as they begin to learn how to raise a child through trial and error. Maternity leave for mothers of newborns is never unpleasant; when it comes to paternity leave, however, it becomes one of the most controversial topics in the world of work. The reasons for maternity leave and paternity leave are both justifiable. Men should have the opportunity to take paternity leave from their jobs so they can be a helping hand to the mother, have the chance to bond with their newborn baby and help close the gap in gender equality on the workplace without stigmatization and criticism. . After the birth of the baby, women may feel emotionally and physically fatigued, so men take on an important role as caregivers and supporters, especially in the first few weeks. If a father has the opportunity to stay home for the first two weeks, to care for both the mother and the new baby, this will have a big impact on the family. Men have the same rights and duties as the child's natural mother. , to spend quality time, bonding and caring for a new baby. With some families living isolated from close relatives, it can be difficult for the mother's family to support her after the baby is born. “A study published in January found that fathers who took two or more weeks of leave when their child was born were more likely to be involved in direct care of their children beyond the leave” (Gringleburg). The period before giving birth is the most stressful and boring time. Parents, especially the mother, have to adapt to the new baby and his schedule. With both parents at home, much of the stress is taken off the mother who is......the center of the card......ye should be able to be there to fulfill that role. Works Cited Abel, Katy.
