Even though this student studied, did her homework, and even asked questions, she failed to pass the grades. Each time the student had performed poorly on a test; feelings of anxiety and fear about taking another test stressed her out. One of the statements made was about how this can actually play a role in how a person actually performs on a test. If a person has failed or performed poorly on previous tests, their thoughts of failure may actually play a role in causing them to do well on the nursery test. I think it was Mike who said, "you're choosing not to think straight." To step back from the feeling of fear, a person must think correctly in order to think affectively.
