Topic > Artistic Analysis: Diego By Andres Martinez, Jr. - 1181

Diego was the only part of the exhibit that was two-dimensional. As I grew closer to Diego, I was consumed by him. I was honestly curious as to why it was part of the exhibit. When I looked closely at the work, I was left with more questions. The person in the piece was expressionless, but through their eyes I knew they had a story to tell. I found myself analyzing the work to try to determine the story behind it. I chose this job because it aroused emotion and curiosity in me. After hearing the background of this portrait, I understood why it aroused so many emotions in me. I can absolutely identify with the artist's reasoning regarding the method in creating the portrait. Trying to erase the painful memories of losing someone close to you. I was attracted by the face of the person in the portrait. Even though I don't know Diego's whole story, I still feel like I sympathize with him. His facial expression gives me the impression that he has lived a hard life
