Al Franken has written a liberal masterpiece of epic proportions. If anyone fails to understand the “obvious conservative bias in the media” or “the total lack of competence of the Bush administration and the initiation of "Operation Ignore", they just need to collect Lies and lying liars that tell them to clarify the facts. From the first page Al Franken launches into a very detailed, volatile book , funny, self-condescending and sometimes obscene assault on the far right Its first victim to fall is Ann Coulter, who I must admit, completely deserved the endless onslaught provided by Franken with her detailed fact-checking, word-twisting. , humor and Just enough concessions to cover one's derrière made the entire section a rather informative, if attack-based, profanity-laced read. The next individual on the chopping block was Bill O-Reilly who is thought-provoking comments like "He says he's a satirist. If Franken is a satirist, then I'm Jennifer Lopez" and "Shut up!" and "Satire my ass" and "SHUT UP!" review pages. Franken has such high respect for O'Reilly that he even dedicates the book to him (after hastily erasing the typed dedication to his wife and family.) Franken then slowly but surely distinguishes O'Reilly, the "No Spin Zone," FOX News Corporation, and O'Reilly's life story in one. comical, degrading, offensive manner that is sure to leave the reader rolling on the floor in laughter or their head popping like a cheap water balloon in fury. Regardless, anything O'Reilly has ever gotten into contact is essentially damned to hell and Lumia 2 burns with brimstone as Franken reaches its climactic ending. Fortunately (or unfortunately) Fr...... middle of paper ...... another counters that it's false Gli absolutes, normally in any form, should cause concern to the reader and require more thorough research before a verdict can be reached. That said, despite his somewhat slimy tactics (unfortunately very similar to those he condemns), Franken's arguments are logical and convincing in their own satirical way. Some might be slightly more likely to believe the book and treat it as some sort of grail if they found themselves swimming in the liberal end of the political pool, while conservative swimmers would do anything to burn the book by any means necessary. For those who like to wade and splash around the watering hole, it's a great read for anyone interested in a fun, interesting and excitingly written piece. A word of wisdom for all who understand this, though, in the words of Al Franken “Don't believe everything you read".”
