One of these states is cold Alaska, located in the far north-west of the world. Thinking back to the date we had to choose the state we wanted to write about, I wanted to choose Arizona. I got very lucky, as a friend of mine had already chosen the state, leaving me another chance to choose a state. I later found out that people could choose the same state, but it was too late. However, I kept thinking about which state to choose. In this case, Alaska came to mind first. Not only because it snows a lot, but also because I had never looked for information on what Alaska might be like, what the climate is like (aside from the cold, of course) and so on. That's why I chose Alaska. You are about to read five different chapters in which Alaska will be discussed. There will be chapters on history, economics, physical and social geography and politics respectively. Chapter 1: History Before any colonization, there were already people in Alaska. The two main peoples who inhabited Alaska (Аляска, Alyaska in Russian) were the Aleuts and the Tlingits. These people were essentially scattered throughout Alaska, and still are. These people formed entire communities in Alaska, mainly on the islands. Like the westernmost part of Alaska; before the Russians decided to explore, the islands west of Alaska were a...... middle of paper...... may be important to Alaska's future development. However, they don't return. To solve this problem, the University of Alaska has offered something to the best students. If they returned, they would benefit from learning at their university. Alaska's education law requires that all children ages seven to sixteen must attend school. Politics We all know that the United States of America has two political directions: Democratic or Republican. Alaska's governors are both Republicans, with Sean Parnell as governor and Mead Treadwell as lieutenant governor. There is also a legislature made up of sixty people: forty in the House of Representatives and another twenty senators. They all make decisions together. The governor is like the president of the state. Elections are held every four years and a new governor is chosen.
