Upon my arrival, I was greeted by a student who ushered me into the room. Once in class, at first I felt a little uncomfortable because everyone was looking at me. But not even a minute later I felt extremely comfortable. I introduced myself to the teacher and she introduced me to her helper and the teacher of the other life skills class. Now the students had gone to breakfast, so we all went to the canteen. The students practically all sat together, but it was still possible to distinguish between the different social groups. Everyone kept asking me why I was there, and some students kept coming up to me saying hello and asking what I was doing. There were also non-verbal students having breakfast with us. One of them got angry and started hitting the table repeatedly, then suddenly he started waving his arms causing food to fly everywhere. I think the staff members handled the situation very well. They remained calm and simply approached the student and encouraged him to go for a walk (with his teacher). This was the student's way of calming down. I later found out that he ended up walking a mile and a quarter until he calmed down. Some of the food ended up on another student and the teachers assured her that she was fine and
