In 2013 alone, approximately one hundred and fifty million Apple iPhones were sold to customers around the world. On the other hand, in the 19th century, Apple's iPhones hadn't even crossed the minds of the most brilliant innovators. During that time, the creation of agricultural machinery, railways and factory goods were introduced, all of which were used to improve the living and working conditions of the time. The use of cell phones in today's society is a terrifying example of technology's shift from adjuvant to adversary. Nowadays, it is prevalent for a human being to depend on technology to carry out daily tasks, interact socially and it has even created an almost frightening ease to gain access to other people's lives. When technology took off during the Industrial Revolution, it was intended to build a simpler life; however, the evolution of today's technology has instead created a complicated lifestyle, which has devalued its original purpose. From the 1760s to about 1850, the United States underwent a remarkable transformation, better known as the Industrial Revolution. This era in the history of our society changed the way people lived by creating new forms of technology to reduce manual labor and create simpler forms of manufacturing, transportation, and much more. (Yale.edu) That was, in fact, the most important turning point, in terms of technology, in the United States. During that time, evolution was occurring in all aspects of human life, creating easier ways to do almost anything you wanted.
