Author's ideology: The author is pro-Putin here. The author puts Putin's macho image in a positive light by describing the incident in which he saves a television crew from a Siberian tiger. This incident perhaps also constitutes an image of Putin as a savior of people and nature. On the other hand, the other role, the Siberian tiger, expressed the environmental conservation achievements achieved in Russia. This brings us to the other ideology of the author in this article. The ideology is that Putin and the Russian government led by him have made great and fruitful efforts on the morally valued issue of environmental protection and remain cooperative with the West on this issue, even as Russia has criticized the West's wrongdoings in Georgia . the following analysis shows how the above ideologies were identified:Putin is the main focus of the article and is illustrated positively:Most of the sentences involve Putin. Where Putin is mentioned, he is the subject of the sentence. Being the subject, it is brought into focus by the reader. The voice of these sentences is primarily active and directs responsibility towards Agent Putin. Of which most are positive events, thus giving credit to Putin. For example: i. "He (Putin) helped measure the incisors of the Amur tiger..."v. “Putin… scrapped plans for an Olympic village near Sochi that could have harmed local flora and fauna.” (Example iv is positive in that the "damage" shows the serious consequences that could have followed if the projects had not been scrapped by Putin)Added to this, the choice... at the center of the card... recently criticized seriously (seen from the metaphorical use of "lambasting", meaning to whip or beat) the West over Georgia. The word lambasting also frames the West as guilty of the events in Georgia since "the West" is the object of the verb "lambasting". This is followed later by "Putin thanked Western researchers for being involved in programs to save Amur tigers." This suggests that Putin is not anti-Western as aid and cooperation in nature conservation were welcomed and Russia was grateful for such acts as the verb "thank" forms a frame in which the subject "Putin" appreciates the subject “Western researchers” for something well done. The use of "complaint" and "thankful" suggests Putin's attitude towards the West in which he appreciates the West's beneficial acts even though he was critical of the West's previous misdeeds.
