Composer and artist PaperBorn on March 21, 1685, Johann Sebastian Bach grew up in a family composed of all musicians and all active as artists, composers and teachers. (Baker's Biographical Dictionary of Musicians,161) Bach attended a Latin school located in a town called Eisenach. Bach was apparently a great student based on his ability in the Latin language (Baker's Biographical Dictionary of Musicians, 161). Unfortunately, his mother died in 1694. His father remarried and died shortly thereafter. (Baker's Biographical Dictionary of Musicians, 161). On 17 October 1707 he married his cousin Maria Barbara Bach, who was the daughter of Johann Michael Bach. Bach's wife did not stay with him long. Maria Barbara Bach was ill and died. She was buried on 7 July 1720, leaving Bach to care for their seven children.
