Kristine Green My intent with this article was to research how you get a pharmacy degree from the University of Michigan, the steps involved, and how you can find a career with that level of education The amount of education being a doctor of pharmacy is very large compared to simply obtaining a bachelor's degree in a common subject. Many people tend to downplay the amount of work invested in the practice of pharmacy, but it takes many years of college and mountains of dedication. I have always wondered where pharmacy came from and who really dedicated the time to "invent" this practice, in this article the invention, construction and origin of the pharmaceutical vocation will be identified, as well as how to proceed to obtain a degree in pharmacy and how you can get a job with that degree. Some may wonder what made me select this topic over any other option. My answer is simply drugs, medications, math and science. Each of these topics interests me greatly and you need this interest to get your degree. Once I get to university I want to embark on the journey to earn this degree so that in the future I can get a job in a pharmacy, as a pharmacist. Pharmacies have always fascinated me with all the different medicines they contain, little tablets that help people feel better and live a normal life, which is absolutely amazing. Using my time wisely, I researched several of the top Colleges of Pharmacies in the United States to decide which was the best college to focus on to get a degree. My choice in the end was the seventeenth highest ranked pharmacy school, which was the University of Michigan-College of Pharmacy. The reason I chose this college is because it is very local and I... middle of paper... costs a lot less. Without financial aid, going to school to become a pharmacist could cost you up to one hundred and forty thousand dollars, a considerable amount for any middle-class citizen. Although students who gain entry to the college level can apply for federal loans and also work study, which helps find part-time jobs for students who receive financial aid. The key to starting a career in pharmacy is based on skill and motivation, you must have the ability to perform certain tasks while having the motivation to complete the academic aspect. One way to view skills as you begin your journey to becoming a Doctor of Pharmacy is to look at your high school transcript, these grades can foreshadow the type of grades you will receive in the future. What really attracts someone to a career is in some cases a personal relationship.
