1. The first of the three texts presents a fairly neutral and objective vision on the issue of Simple Living. The text does not show any meaning but simply tells the negative and positive sides of Simple Living. The text chooses to present the reason that lies in people who have given up their normal life and started living simply. The text explains how people transitioned from normal life to new life. They got rid of all the non-essentials. They do not focus on materialistic things and therefore have time to enjoy the more important things in life. Things like friends, family, girlfriends/boyfriends and so on. Another statement from the text is that many people prefer the simple life because of the economic benefits. Without a doubt it is significantly cheaper. Text 1 concludes that simple living can lead to a better life, through greater interaction with family, etc. and to less stress in daily life. The second text is an interview with Judith Levine about her newly published book. A book in which he describes an entire year spent without making any purchases. In other words, Living Simple. The idea to write the book came to her while she was reflecting on her Christmas shopping and how much money she had spent on gifts. He only bought what he needed to survive. Unlike the other text, this interview obviously becomes much more subjective. Judith Levine believes that overconsumption is a huge problem. However, it recognizes that consumption is one of the factors that keeps a good economy flowing. Judith Levine believes that living simple depends entirely on oneself, but she believes it can improve the United States. However you have to do something yourself. The third... middle of the paper... ouch, because our phone is ringing. I experienced this myself recently. A broken iPhone led me to upgrade to an older Sony Ericsson. I experienced this almost instantly. It was much quieter than my usual iPhone. No Snapchat, no email, no Facebook, no nothing. I suddenly understood everyone who currently lives simply. I wasn't that stressed. After a month with my Sony Ericsson I want my iPhone. Now, however, I suddenly feel excluded. I think you would have to conclude that living simply could be a great way to a perhaps better world. However it depends entirely on the individual. You can't be forced to live simply. I think for a short time anyone would appreciate, even love, a simple life, but after a while you feel like you've missed out on a lot of things. That's because our society is built around all the things you suddenly disconnect from your life.
