President Theodore Roosevelt was our nation's most incredible president. He cared about every aspect of our country. He was extraordinary, brilliant and strong. He brought something different to the presidential legacy table. His personality, however, was unmatched, he was an impossible act to follow. He was also impetuous and did not hesitate to circumvent regulations to get what he wanted. With the assassination of President McKinley, Theodore Roosevelt rose to become the youngest president in our nation's history at the mere age of forty-three. He brought new enthusiasm and power to the Presidency. The revolution of his life brought many events and new ideas to the world. Roosevelt was a Republican and an excellent leader. His vision of a better and improved United States captured the attention of the entire country. Roosevelt was not only a good leader as president, but also in every leadership position he held. Prior to his presidency, Roosevelt served as a New York congressman, New York police commissioner, assistant secretary of the Navy at the start of the Spanish-American War, second in command of the Rough Riders in Cuba, and governor of New York. York. He was a man of many achievements but also clearly knew how to be an exceptional leader. While police commissioner he reinstated the department, made merit-based promotions, and committed his fellow cops to serving the people as they were meant to. Roosevelt established a group called the Rough Riders as an all-volunteer force to liberate Cuba from the Spanish after the explosion of the USS Maine in Havana harbor. During the Spanish-American War Roosevelt served as a lieutenant colonel of the Rough Rider Regiment. He and his team... center of paper... was one of the most influential and brilliant presidents the nation had ever seen. He accomplished many things and literally circumvented what would have been impossible. He fought for perfection and a better America and provided his country with effective leadership. He defined the Presidency as something that should be achieved to the fullest extent. He made the Presidency achieve the unthinkable and he smiled while he did it.
