Every time I picked up a paper, I turned it face down, that way no one would see my score, corrections, or comments made. I just knew there would be a lot of marks on my paper or a low mark. In most cases, I knew I would get a “3 or 4” and in one case it was a circled “4 or 5” on the header of my paper. The “o” always made me angry because I always thought my papers weren't good enough. I would see my score as the lowest number on the score sheet. Furthermore, knowing Mr. Johnson's extensive vocabulary, my writing and use of vocabulary were nowhere near his proficiency.
