The school is described as a second home for students. Students acquire the basic training of education and life starting from school. They come into contact with new people, experience different cultures and create new habits and ideas. Entering a new school is extremely difficult especially when they move from a different country, leave their friends and family and enter a completely new environment. My parents decided that I should get a better education, so they decided to move to the United States after I finished fifth grade in India. We first moved to Maryland and I enrolled in Nashville Middle School. The admission was confirmed on the 2nd day after school started, so I was already behind in all my classes. When I entered school, I was perplexed. I started sweating and my heart started pounding because I didn't know where to go or what to do, I couldn't think of anything. I didn't even know anyone until I showed this girl my schedule and asked her where my class was, luckily it turned out she was in the class right across from mine, so she walked me to my class. As we walked to our class, we started talking, she asked me if I was new to the area and everything. I asked her if she had any classes with me and she looked at the schedule, nodded and said, "yes, we have science together, step 5 after lunch." As soon as he said my heart rate went back to normal thinking, at least I know someone in my science class. We walked to the hallway where our classroom was and she pointed me towards my classroom and waved her hand with a smile on her face and said, "see you in science class." I smiled and said, “I'll see you in class if I can find the class.” With anxiety on one side and fear on the other... in the center of the paper... you will be assigned to a class and stay in that class all day and the teacher changes. We didn't have a smart board or anything, so it was hard to even understand the teachers. The school term is not as long as the school term in India. The sporting activity is better than in India. In India you learn more things than here, so you get a head start on everything, but for long term education in US is more advantageous than in India. Thoughts This was an important first experience because after attending sixth grade in Maryland I moved to Pennsylvania and completed middle school there and this experience helped me when I started school in Pennsylvania, it made everything easier for me . All I had to do was find my class and make new friends. I moved back to Maryland again and from Maryland to Oregon in 2015 - that experience helps me a lot to adapt to the new environment.
