The project aims to promote hygiene and sanitation in the community. According to Gordon-Davis (2011) hygiene is a quality of life that is transmitted in the clean environment of the home. Hygiene can be determined by checking whether the toilet works and is used for safe discharge of excreta with improved hygiene (Lenton et al., 2005). The project will include the dissemination of information and learning opportunities on aspects of personal hygiene and the environment, without forgetting the disposal of excrement.3. Field of social workThe service offered by the agency is the child protection service. The Child Protection Service is responsible for protecting children up to the age of 18. For example, the agency welcomes girls aged 12 to 18. Through this service we help children who have no parents, who have an unavailable guardian or who have been abandoned, who display behaviors that cannot be controlled by their parents, who are sexually exploited, who are exposed to circumstances that can seriously harm their physical health. -being of the child http://www.dsd.gov.za/index.php?option=com_co4. Brief description of the communityThe community is the functional community. A functional community is characterized by physical uniformity among peers in which social norms and approvals emerge from the social structure itself and both reinforce and support that ... middle of paper ... some are sexually exploited. Sexual abuse has been defined as including a variety of activities that involve a child's viewing of adult sexual activities (Conte & Shore, 1982). This is also one of the issues that social workers face in the field of social work. All categories that have to do with sexual abuse, neglect, abandonment, etc. fall under child abuse. According to Faller (1981) child abandonment refers to harm to a child's health or wealth by a person responsible for the child's health which manifests itself through negligent treatment which also includes the failure to provide food, clothing, shelter etc. sufficient. Social workers need to be aware of the signs of abuse and neglect because they will need to carry out an assessment of the child to know when to refer a case to protective services (Faller, 1981).
