With the recent economic turmoil, ethical business practices have been put under the spotlight as a vital area in which companies need to improve. Proper business ethics are vital to economic growth and progress, as well as facilitating a productive and morally upright society. The United States has recently undergone major economic declines, the most significant of which occurred in 2001 and 2008. As questions are asked and some answers are given, it paints a picture for the American people of big business they don't care about middle class individuals. Everyone has a finger to point and many of them are aimed directly at these large companies. With the blame falling on various financial institutions, people are starting to dig deeper to try to understand the source of the problem. Questions like: How could this happen? How can we prevent this from happening again? Whose fault is it? How do we recover? I am convinced that if you trace the issues that arise between these societies to their deepest roots, you will find many ethically questionable individuals. My goal is to begin to understand how these bad decisions have affected every single person in our great nation, and how a set of proper morals and correct ethical decisions can produce a thriving economy.
