Toward the end of World War II, thousands of people died in Hiroshima, Japan. The Enola Gay dropped a 9,000-pound TNT bomb called "Little Boy." About 78,150 people died after a death count, but the radiation was still lethal. Three days later another bomb was dropped. "Fat Man", dropped from "Bock's Car", was a uranium-235 bomb, although it did less damage than Hiroshima, the port of Nagasaki was still blown to pieces. Overall, there were approximately 23,753 lives taken by "Fat Man". The nuclear bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki did not help America because they started the Cold War, killed many innocent Japanese, and made other countries feel that we are more ruthless than the Japanese themselves. The bombing of Hiroshima occurred on August 6, 1945. ; at 8:15 a.m. Nagasaki was bombed on August 9 at 11:02 a.m. 1945. Although nuclear power evolved and became greater after World War II, the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki were the only nuclear bombs ever dropped. There have been test bombings in uncharted areas by the United States and perhaps Russia or Afghanistan, but none as attacks against other countries. The co-pilots of “Bock's Car” were named Captain Frederick C. Bock and Charles Albury. The co-pilots of the “Enola Gay” were Paul Tibbets and Robert Lewis. There were many other crew members of each aircraft with positions such as: commander, co-pilot, navigator, bombardier, electronic countermeasures, radar and radio operators, flight engineer, assistant flight engineer, tail gunner, armorer and third pilot. The Cold War (1945-1991) was a competition between Soviet Russia and America to see who had more nuclear power, in this war no nuclear weapons were actually used but people learned to be ready.... middle of paper ......and the two. The bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki at the end of World War II caused a negative impact on America because it made countries think that America was more ruthless than the Japanese at war, it triggered the Cold War, and many innocent Japanese mothers and children died . The study of the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki and the Cold War shows that the Soviet Union was very evil and communist, but America could be considered just as bad compared to other countries. When the USSR began to show signs of nuclear power, the United States intervened at that very moment, while all other countries sat back and watched as America made the mistake of dropping two nuclear bombs on many innocent people . In addition to causing an immediate end to World War II, the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki were a mistake for Americans and history in general, having a negative impact on America as a whole..
