Native Americans of the Afterlife vs. Beliefs of Christianity It was Monday morning and I was very nervous. It was the day of my very first assignment at WWRC-TV. I had to compare and contrast how two different religious groups view the afterlife. Given the freedom of choice, I decided on Christianity and Native Americans. These two look very different but have some similar qualities. People have very strong feelings about religion, and the afterlife might just be the most critical and questionable thing. My two interviewees were to be Mrs. Joe Cleantech, an expert on Christianity and Mr. I.E. McCall, Native American religion. I decided to interview them separately. My heart was pounding: "What if I'm wrong?", "What if I ask the wrong questions?" "What if I mix them up?" Just before that I was in a panic. I arrived at the bar where Mrs. Cleantech and I decided to meet. We decided to meet at 3:00 to avoid the large lunch and dinner crowds. What timing! We met at the door! I asked the hostess if we could have some privacy. She was accommodating and guided us to a small table in the back corner of the room. My confidence was growing, I think I was dressed appropriately! I wore my black pants with a light green jacket. Mrs. Joe Cleantech wore simple clothes; brown pants and a yellow sweater. We shook hands, introduced ourselves and sat down. I tried to sound as professional as possible, as she seemed very sophisticated. We started with small talk. We asked each other about each other's families and hobbies, just to break the ice a little. I started. “My first question,” I stammered, “What made you decide to become a professor of Christian Religion?” “It's okay,” he said, “you can relax. I have had men... middle of paper... who believe in one God, Jesus Christ is the Messiah and for those who believe in him, eternal life. Native Americans, on the other hand, believe that everything is spiritual. I think it's wonderful that there are so many different views on life and the afterlife. Works Cited Davies-Stofka, Beth.
