Brook was born with something very different from everyone else, her family loved and adored her for her amazing difference, she is the jewel of her family. Brook has rainbow-colored eyes, no one knows his exceptional secret, he manages to hide it with contact lenses and his favorite pair of sunglasses. Brook lives on the beach in Florida, the perfect place for year-round sunglasses fashion and loves the sun. He doesn't usually go out with friends on weekends until the first day of school when he meets a girl he thought he could trust, but who soon turns out to be his worst enemy. Summer is finally over and school is starting; I'm not nervous at all. I wake up, get ready for school, put on my contact lenses and put on my favorite sunglasses; normal routine. When I get to school, I go to the office to get my schedule and hurry up to get to my first class. I look around to see all the familiar nervous faces, some reading, some talking. I sat and ignored them all, rereading my program over and over to memorize it. Then a new girl comes and sits in the empty seat next to me. “Hi,” he said in a cheerful voice. “Hi,” I replied. She wore bright summer colors and had curly blonde hair. I focused on the color of his eyes which I seem to do with everyone. She started asking me a lot of questions about school and Florida since she was new to the state. Then he asks me my schedule so he can see if we had any of the same classes. We had lunch anyway. "I love your eyes, they're so blue!" he told me it wouldn't even be the first time.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~We were at my house on Friday night to eat pizza and watch movies, as always. It's... middle of the paper... it would just tell me to back up and lie down. I went and sat at the top of the stairs and listened. "Now let's go back to our special report, which is going around the world, "The Girl with the Rainbow Eyes"." announced the reporter. I could only imagine what was happening in front of the TV. My mother was sitting so close to the TV and her mouth was wide open. I kept listening and by now I knew there was a picture of me in the corner with Hailey's quotes. Soon they would be playing the reporter's video at the house, with Hailey and me standing at the door. After the report was over, I heard my mother coming around the corner. I got up and ran back to my bed. I hear her go up the stairs and then she comes into my room. “Brook, how did people find out about your eyes and how did you end up on the news?” my mother asked. “Hailey,” I blurted out.
