Nurses play such an important role in our lives. They are there when we are born; we die; and whenever we need it in between. I can't understand why they continue to get paid so much less than those in less important jobs. For example, some footballers are paid almost £300,000 a week. This means that footballers are paid more than nurses are paid in an entire year - in my opinion, this is absolutely ridiculous. Personally I think that, if the Government were a little wiser with their money, they might be able to give nurses a slightly higher maximum salary of £35,000 a year. For example, the government wastes £1.2 billion a year on welfare fraud and £300 million on tax fraud. That's a total of £1.5 billion wasted, and rising every year. If the government didn't make it so easy to apply for benefits, nurses could actually get the amount of money they deserve, instead of being stolen from by people they neither need nor deserve. Minimizing benefits fraud could potentially increase nurses' salaries substantially. Many nurses work as volunteers...
