The Chesapeake Region and the New England Colonies differed greatly in the development of their two distinct societies. The Chesapeake region was a loosely organized society with few ties to each plantation, while the New England colonies had tightly knit communities with a kind of town pride. The difference in units and the reason for this difference better explain the significant disparity between different societies. The New England and Chesapeake region had evolved into two different societies because the world was changing and many people did not like the change that was occurring. this happening they went away. For example, the Church of England was said to be corrupt. This is one of the main reasons of the separatists. They didn't like the rules and regulations of the church and wanted to leave. Many people believed that as a reward for faith, God would give the person salvation. This is not what the Church of England thought. The Martian Luther argued that the Bible recognized only two sacraments, baptism and communism, and not the seven authorized by the Catholic Church. Another reason for leaving England was to acquire wealth. The way one could do this was to participate in fur trading, gold mining, and even farming and fishing. Even though there were separatists, there were also puritans. The Puritans were there to spread the Church of England and build colonies for the king. There were many people who remained loyal to the king even when the king was more than three thousand miles away. John Winthrop was the Puritan leader in 1680. He wanted everyone to live in peace and for everyone to work as one. If that happened then everyone would be watching them. The disparity in social development comes from the type of people sent to each region. Mostly single men were sent to the Chesapeake colonies in search of wealth (Document F). There were some women; however, not enough to truly produce heirs and a great next generation. In New England, by contrast, families of four, five, and six members arrived together (Document B). With families in New England, new generations would surely arrive and a closer unity within the family would arise. When the New England families came to their settlements, they made a strong and supportive covenant among themselves (Document D), while the English who settled in Virginia and the like were there only to satisfy their infinite greed (D.... .. medium paper......ginia, Governor Berkeley, was afraid he was being underhanded in asking for troops from Great Britain to help repel Dutch attacks (Document G) People in the Chesapeake colonies were unhappy with the escape of wealthy aristocrats the show. Francis Bacon led a revolt in Virginia against Governor Berkeley He believed that the lack of unity among all citizens was evident and needed change. He believed that the government at the time was doing an inadequate job in the field of security, defense, advancement of commerce (Document H). This problem was not present among the citizens of the New England colonies because the goals of the citizens of New England were different (Document A). Development in the two societies was evident during the inception of each colony and through events occurring during its period of development. New England and the Chesapeake colonies arose as separate states with separate motivations and separate outcomes, and each method had its pros and cons for some people. The initial reasons, the decisions made during the respective history of each settlement and the method to form a better community surrounded the main foundations for the..
