Who wants to have children? As teenagers, we try to avoid getting (or getting someone) pregnant and may think we don't even want kids. As we get older, our opinions may change and we may decide that we really want children when the time comes and our age is right. What we don't realize is that having children is not a certainty in life, whether you plan for it or not. The ability to have children is a blessing, and many people take it for granted, because having children does not happen by accident. Many things must come together for a man and a woman to be fertile. Fertility occurs through normal sexual activity or unprotected sexual intercourse for one year, the ability that a couple has to produce a child. Fertility problems are faced by 2.1 million couples. What many people don't know is that fertility affects women and men equally. Couples without fertility problems don't realize how lucky they are. Hundreds of factors must combine for a successful pregnancy. To become pregnant, an egg must be released from the woman's ovaries, which is called ovulation. Then, the man's sperm and the woman's egg must meet, this process is called fertilization. Next, the fertilized egg must travel through the woman's fallopian tubes and attach to the wall of the uterus, which is called implantation. Now, if you were like me, you'd think it just happened, right? I mean, you know what getting there entails, but you never realized how many steps it took. Well, if even one of these steps is interrupted, a woman will not be able to get pregnant. In women, many things can make them infertile. Now I asked you if you wanted to have children because even though it may seem like an eternity until you seriously consider this question, the things we do now can have a negative impact... middle of paper... of the most popular options or known. To find out if you have infertility problems, wait until a year of unprotected sex, unless you are 35 or older. As I've said time and time again, most fertility is only temporary, so if some of you face these issues as you get older, don't think it's the end of the world, because there are solutions. I hope none of you ever have to look into these solution options. Unfortunately for some having children can be a painful, annoying and frustrating process all along the way and they will wonder why they ever decided to have children when they have to deal with ignorant teenagers on a daily basis. When the time comes that you decide to have children and if everything goes smoothly without any problems, know how lucky you are, but if it doesn't go as planned, keep in mind that there are solutions that will bring you the beautiful gift of life.
