The technology that changed the worldThe future holds many things, some of them are new cars and new airplanes, but there is no one who stops to think where all that technology came from. The 1970s were a decade that changed many things, mostly due to technology. Technology has helped people's lives improve, improving transportation, space travel, computers, health and medicine, and many other new products. Technology has really helped many people and made life easier. The 1970s were a decade that brought new technology to all Americans. In the 1970s, the Japanese made a cheap car with a small engine. This posed a threat to other automotive industries of different nations because they were so successful in their production (Healey 18). The seventies were also different from previous decades. It was a decade in which serious protesters buried the Chevy to protest internal combustion engine pollution. The Japanese took control of the American import market, over 90% of the 2.3 million automobiles imported in 1979 (Edelstein, McDonough 122). There was no car that challenged the American macho more than the "neutered" 1975 Cadillac Seville. The Cadillac could shed 1,000 pounds and twenty-five inches of length on the Seville and cost $12,500 (Edelstein, McDonough 122). the cars were a sensation for everyone and even competed against each other, but the thing that caught everyone's attention were the vans. The van was the next interesting vehicle for people besides other cars. People initially used vans for plumbers and electricians. Vans later became a very sociological phenomenon. Most drivers used it to smoke and party... middle of paper... son of Kodak. The camera weighed eight kilos, there were black and white images on a cassette and a resolution of 0.01 megapixels (“7 technologies to thank the 70s”). In short, the 1970s were a decade of innovation for Americans. It was a decade that showed them the new things life has. It also changed the lives of many Americans because it made things easier for them. If it weren't for technology, Americans would never have had an easier way to get to places like with vehicles or even with computers and even with email. This is why the 70s are an unforgettable decade because they brought many innovations including technologies and much more, but especially technology. If it weren't for the people who invented all the great things of this decade, life might have been different in the 1970s.Books of the 1970
