Topic > Understanding the National Liberation Front - 789

To understand what form of warfare the National Liberation Front (NLF) adopted, the type of insurgency it was and the strategy it used, it is necessary to understand what its objective was final era. Furthermore, one should understand what was the reason why they fought in the first place. First of all, one of the main causes was the physical space in which the Arabs lived. Europeans and Arabs are separated in two places. The Arabs felt like they were being cornered, they were forced to live in an older, run-down area, while the Europeans lived in a more modernized part of the city with all the amenities. The second cause that could be argued is employment status. Arabs worked under Europeans, and mostly in labor-intensive jobs. To put it simply, Europeans had strong control over civil and public affairs, with a well-developed middle class. The third reason one might say is that the Arabs felt as if their intelligence was being attacked. Europeans had condescending and arrogant attitudes towards them. The French would try to discourage the Arab people from rising, claiming that they had given them “civilization and prosperity” (Roi Word). Some French even referred to Algerians as “dirty Arabs and rats” (Roi Word). The French use dehumanizing tactics to dissuade the Arabs from revolting. The intensity to which the French push themselves can be seen in their entire standard of living. To put it simply, the indigenous population did not have equal access to resources. All these causes degenerate into a destructive conflict between the NLF and the Europeans. So the ultimate cause is that the Arabs felt they were entitled to something more. They wanted freedom and independence from the Europeans. When... in the center of the paper... the war on terrorism. How can I justify this, well, terrorism is defined as the threat or use of physical coercion, primarily against non-combatants, especially civilians, to create fear in order to achieve various political objectives. So, based on this definition and the actions taken by the NLF that attack civilians or non-combatants to evoke a sense of fear in the French, I can definitively say that terrorism is a form of warfare. So, how can I justify guerrilla tactics as one of their forms? Well, to put it simply, they also targeted the military and police using hit-and-run tactics. Finally, it could be argued that the type of strategy they used is the protracted people's war strategy, especially in selective mode. terrorism and strategic stalemate. Strategic stalemate is about guerrilla warfare and selective terrorism is about gaining both popular and external support.
