The Power of Training Everywhere I go, every time I go, whoever I see, I am always amazed by the way people want to present themselves. The principle of training reminds me of nothing more than a song called "anywhere, anytime, anyone" by Shakira. It is out of sheer sense that everyone wants to look good and become popular by looking good. The media creates popularity simply by looking at this so-called “good”. “Take for example Britney Spears, Christina Aguilara, Shakira and other teen pop sensations. Many of these pop stars aren't even old enough to drink, yet they earn millions of dollars from their performances and CDs sold. But it's not just music that has created them so much popularity. Without a doubt it is also their appearance. This ethnography will provide answers to the many questions asked about why people start training, the multiple effects of training, and to produce the different perspectives of training from different people. The aim is to produce a culture of training from a male and female perspective. My research is based where I work, in the weight room located in the JCC building located in West Bloomfield, Michigan. This is a very large building, perhaps the size of a large high school, surrounded by a large amount of parking. There are several facilities inside the JCC. It has a basketball court, a room for large parties, a roller hockey rink and the weight room that I'm setting up. People who are members of this JCC can use the weight room whenever they want, as well as use the sauna, steam room, they have the luxury of receiving towels and... half of paper... .... I'm not looking more than impressing the opposite sex as before. While it's still nice to have people watching you while you work out, I feel that staying fit and healthy is just as important as looking good. “With the help of my field notes, Keneth Pike's explanations within the etic and emic perspectives, and the interviews I did within these perspectives, I was able to realize the true power of training. The true reasoning that all people are different. Whether some do it to stay fit or to look better, everyone does it for some soul purpose. America is all about working hard and striving to achieve. It is a place of freedom and opportunity. The weight room is an opportunity for people to look better, feel better and socialize with other people.
