STATEMENT OF PURPOSE I have always had a strong desire to pursue electrical engineering, but my undergraduate studies began with a major in physics, chemistry, and mathematics. During my studies I had developed a love for Physics and Mathematics. I spent many hours solving complex equations, tackling numerical physics problems. I became more inclined to solve more physics problems because it would provide me with a clear picture and better understanding of a derived model. For example, why can't an electron exist inside the nucleus of an atom? The uncertainty principle was better understood when I solved a problem about particle confinement. My interest in applied physics grew stronger with time and I later decided to do a Master's in Physics with a specialization in Electronics. This was the time I was able to lay the foundation in electronics. My course included core physics and electronics subjects, both the best parts of my degree. During my first year of Master's, my course included Analog Electronics and Power Electronics; to better understand these courses I took a short course to try to learn electronics from the basics. I decided to do a short project to learn how a switching power supply works. Until high school I knew how a power supply works. But that's when I came across the workings of an SMPS and its vast applications, from personal computers to consumer electronics. In the second year of my master's degree my main subjects included microprocessors, microcontrollers, digital signal processing, VLSI. To foster greater understanding of the courses and to learn the real-world application of microcontrollers, I decided to design a working... middle of paper... patch that gave better results. All fabrication was done by me using the chemical etching method. The results of the fabricated model were compared experimentally using a vector network analyzer with those obtained from simulations using simulation software. Now I firmly believe to carry out my research work more efficiently in a group, require exposure and beautiful microstrip antenna fabrication and characterization structure. I got excited looking at the research, faculty and laboratory areas of Ohio State University, the research experience I have gained and the techniques and skills I have learned so far will be of immense help in carrying out work in Electromagnetism and Antennas at this university. It would be a great opportunity to be part of this university as a doctoral student and lay the foundation of my career to become a future scientist.
