2. Objective and program of the course With this course I learned more about other religions without the stereotypes that were fed to me by the media and the opinions of the majority. One of the most important things I've learned about other religions is that each has a unique core belief system focused on caring for others. Furthermore, I also learned that some outdated traditions continue even though the laws have changed. This is in relation to Hinduism and widows who are considered outcasts in their society and are left to fend for themselves without support or family. I will continue to research this abandoned population of India and why the law has not been recognized by Hindu culture. I've learned to really look at other music and art that isn't familiar to me. Vocabulary Some of the vocabulary words I will use in the future are as follows: Hajj and Mosque which I have already started using in conversations with others as the discussion on different religions was brought. regarding the Islamic faith. Bushido and Hara-kiri or seppuku are two terms that my son and I have had conversations about. Furthermore, he is very interested in Japanese culture and has seen the film Ran with me. Next we discussed the different traditions associated with the samurai. Thanks to this lesson and the film we were able to have a conversation that didn't involve video games or work-related stress. Prologue and Epilogue – These are two vocabulary words that I will start using when my friends and I discuss books, plays, and movies. This will also strengthen my conversations as there are times when I don't expand my current vocabulary. Nirvana and Suttee are vocabulary words that moved me. When I discovered the widow population in India, I told others about their terrible existence. I'm just one person, but I feel that by enlightening others with the knowledge that they will think twice before taking their freedom
