“Such a tendency has the slave trade to corrupt the minds of men and to harden them towards every feeling of humanity” (Equiano 1013). The fact that Equiano was able to separate the institution of slavery from the white slave owners and focus on the main problem shows that he is a rational and intelligent writer.
