Since the Internet was born, the government has not been interested in regulating it. I know for a fact that people need to step up and help change what the government doesn't do. Internet regulation is what people need to browse the Internet with ease. Many people would live a safer and more secure life with it. In business, online products must be told according to the truth and nothing else to avoid misleading consumers. Claims made in an email advertisement, on a website, or in an article designed to attract others to the website must be truthful and not say that the product, service, or anything you are selling can do anything it cannot do or bring negative results. Companies also can't present themselves as spam and modify themselves to misrepresent people. Spam and lies about business can lead to disastrous situations. These can lead to robberies, identity theft, and more. The internet is just as dangerous as real life. Too many people think they are safe enough to do whatever they want and move forward as they want. All it takes is one click and something really bad can happen to you or others. The government is hiding all the spam and online crime. They don't regulate anything or what's important online. People are fooled by spam and lies in emails and untrustworthy sites! Identity theft happens online all the time because people are always in the dark and never pay attention to what is going on. What people can't say in person, they usually want to say online, but regulation doesn't monitor most cyberbullying and people should be able to stop what others say. People should be able to delete mean comments for the world to see to prevent something life-threatening like someone wanting to commit suicide. Suicide is a HUGE reason why social media should be more regulated because what people say online can completely change someone's life. Internet regulation is overall a great safe method for the Internet. Regulation can save people from many situations, but it can also prevent people from delving into something good. The Internet really needs more regulation in every aspect. People have other lives online, and regulation can do a lot to protect their lives.
