Topic > Mcdonalds commercial is not exaggerated - 916

Most of the time we see advertisements that have no meaning other than to attract attention with exaggerated acting and materials. Later, we remember these ads better because of the mindless comedy and flashing lights. However, McDonald's advertising is not over the top like many other advertisements. The commercial creates an emotional atmosphere that makes people see McDonald's as an ageless dining place for everyone of all ages. The commercial begins with a screen split in half with an old vintage film on the left side and a new modern film on the right side. There is music played from time to time which adds to the difference over time. A boy appears in the left screen with clothes that match the eighties and a basketball who throws the ball to the girl in the modern film and with modern clothes. It cuts to a scene where the boy is playing an old video game, then he looks at the girl who looks sad and gives her the controls that transform into a modern controller. This sequin follows as the boy gives the girl his bicycle, but when the boy gives the girl his stuffed dog, the fake dog turns into a real puppy instead. The boy is at McDonald's and gives the girl his chicken nuggets and approaches her as an adult and her father. At the end he says "we all want the best for kids" and talks about McDonald's new chicken nuggets with the slogan "The simpler the better." Chicken nugget advertising has a very broad target audience. The audience is made up of children and adults who ate there as children. The adult is the boy who eventually became the parent of the girl he helps. This creates a number that will increase in size over a long period of time. This is related to a technique used which is emotion or pathos. Happy emotions while eating...... middle of paper ......t that there is a time difference. This distance in time is visible throughout the advertising and makes you wonder why this time is being shown. At the end of the commercial you realize that it shows how McDonald's is a classic place throughout the ages. It also shows a deeper meaning that people can connect to because at the end the boy is the parent and the girl is his daughter and this becomes memorable for the people who watch it. Since McDonald's does not follow the norms of many advertisements, the audience can get more from them than from other advertisements. This commercial uses something other than funny acting that some people take nothing from. The advertisement uses the emotion of love to connect the boy becoming a parent to how good McDonald's is. The boy who becomes a parent shows the time difference. This classic commercial creates a timeless atmosphere for McDonald's.
