Perhaps Donald Trump is such an illustrious entrepreneur, because he has invested money in different industries and has gone through a roller coaster of failures and successes. Donald's early life consisted of him attending the New York Military Academy and Fordham University. He eventually transferred to the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, where he earned his bachelor's degree in economics in 1968. Donald's first legitimate job, which inspired him to get into real estate, was with his father in real estate. Donald has been adamant about the lessons his father taught him in the construction and real estate business and says he wouldn't have gotten to where he is today without his father's wisdom. It wasn't until the early 1970s that Donald started wanting something that would make him a lot of money. He grew tired and bored of working with his father where they sold middle class rental housing. Donald sought to move into larger commercial real estate development. He saw a window of opportunity to jump into commercial real estate when New York City began offering broad tax breaks to investors willing to buy real estate.
