My mother didn't get her permit until she was forty, so she only had ten years of experience but more time to help teach me to drive. My grandfather still suggested I learn the basics from a driving instructor, so after a phone call I did six weeks of driving school. Learning in someone else's car is very different from learning with your parents, but the instructor made me feel comfortable and gave me a way of learning to let you know if you could do better at something without making you feeling like you will never get it and want to quit to always keep positive thoughts. Due to my age, I had to take a six-month driving course. It seemed like an eternity, but in that time there were a lot of things about driving that I hadn't learned, but playing those video games credited me with helping me get comfortable with steering and how much pressure to apply on the accelerator. Once I passed the driving test, which I am grateful that both my parents and the driving school instructor taught me correctly, I can now drive a vehicle on my own for the first time. Life as I knew it will now be different. I no longer need to rely on anyone to drive me around, but now I have to be an adult because driving comes with responsibility, not only to myself but to everyone around me
