The fact that a man is black places a restriction on his job search. The lucky few who find work continue to experience racism in the workplace. Many African Americans earn less than their white colleagues and are sometimes not properly placed in the right office. In terms of promotion in offices, whites get promoted faster than blacks. This helps whites reach higher management positions faster, while blacks take several years to reach the top. Additionally, recruiting requirements for the job are more stringent for blacks than for whites. In general, favoritism towards whites helps them get jobs easily while blacks face obstacles before getting them
