Topic > History of Chemistry - 748

Chemistry is involved in almost everything we do. Everything involved in changing matter is chemistry. Chemistry extends into a couple of things like biology and technology. Without chemistry we would not be as advanced as we are today in technology. Chemistry has been around for a long time and has a lot of history. There are many different phases in the history of chemistry. Chemistry transitions into biology in many different ways. Without Chemistry Biology would not be the same as it is today. Biology is the study of living organisms and chemistry is the study of the chemical composition and properties of matter and the reactions of that matter. Every living thing has multiple chemical reactions going on in its body at all times. For example, when you eat something, your body's stomach acid breaks down the food; this is an example of a chemical reaction that occurs in a living organism. This is just one way chemistry transitions into biology. Even when you take a sip of water that has something to do with Chemistry. Water is a compound made up of hydrogen and oxygen. This borders on biology because without water you wouldn't be able to live. Biotechnology is basically a mixture of biology and chemistry. Biotechnology is when you use living things and turn them into things that benefit humans. Humans have used biotechnology for thousands of uses such as agriculture, food production, and medicine. Biotechnology has expanded to include new and diverse sciences such as genomics, recombinant genetic technologies, the development of pharmaceutical therapies, and diagnostic tests. Chemistry has been around for a very long period of time. It dates back to ancient history. In prehistoric times they used chemistry... half the paper... f elements into compounds, nothing we would have would work, we would have no electricity. Chemistry also extends to our weapons. Without chemistry, none of our weapons would be able to fire. They fire because two compounds come into contact and cause a small explosion when the projectile is launched. Everything that has to do with weapons has something to do with chemistry. Chemistry, as you can see, has a lot of history. It also has a lot to do with everything we do. Any kind of technology we have has to do with chemistry. Biology also borders on chemistry, as I explained above. Chemistry is part of our world every day. Everything we have is made of many elements put together to form other things. If you could break something down to its core, it would eventually come out into the elements of which it is composed. Chemistry is involved in everything we do.
