I am involved in event planning, in the hospitality industry. The event planning industry is on the rise and is not tied to a specific genre, so there are several to choose from. Event planning is necessary for all types of occasions such as birthday parties, weddings, fundraisers, product launches, concerts, anniversaries, fashion shows, conferences, graduations, business meetings and much more! It is an industry that will never stop growing and improving. Specifically, an event planner's job includes working with clients, creating a positive self-image, networking with clients, and making personal and financial gains. The job of an event planner is much more than hanging streamers, laying out tablecloths and checking quality. of the lights. Event planning requires tedious work and strenuous planning. Also called meeting and convention planners, they do everything they can to make sure these events go as planned. This includes working with the client to choose a fabulous and affordable location, hiring quality caterers, selecting the perfect entertainment, and even arranging accommodation and transportation for attendees visiting from afar (McKay) . An event planner's goal is to make sure the event runs as planned, which includes multiple plans to combat the what-if scenario, because no event will ever run exactly as planned. Event planning is a very personally rewarding career. Not only is it personally rewarding, but it also offers benefits such as gaining public recognition and financial rewards. On top of that, event planning offers flexibility and individual independence (being able to start your own event planning business). While this job ideally seems easy and personal... middle of paper... own business, but it should also be included with essential items like business cards and wallets. From business conferences to weddings, there are events happening all around us, and where there are events there are event organizers who build them, put it all together and make it all work effectively. Event planning is always unpredictable and you need to always be ready for any problematic situation that may arise. In the beginning there is a great possibility that problems will arise that you are not prepared to deal with, but this is all part of the improvement process. These situations should be viewed as a learning experience and should give you some ideas on how to improve your event planning skills and your business. Because of all the hospitality, craziness and personal gratification, I chose to become an event planner.
